NATIONAL DISTANCE LEARNING WEEK

National Distance Learning Week (NDLW) is from November 3rd to November 7th. NDLW brings greater awareness to distance learning. At North Carolina Central University (NCCU), we want to recognize our leaders and faculty working together to give our students the best learning experience in their distance learning courses.

The office primarily responsible for distance learning is Extended Studies, housed within the Division of Academic Affairs.  NCCU offers 37 online degrees and six certificates at the graduate level.  NCCU also offers non-credit online training and personal development courses that are designed to help adult learners upskill and advance their careers.  Several offices within Extended Studies support the degree and certificate programs including:

  • Admissions Team
  • Canvas Team
  • Office of e-Learning
  • Flight Path
  • Student Success Team
  • Transfer Services
  • Continuing Education
  • Visiting Students Team

Additionally, Extended Studies serves adult learners seeking training and professional or personal development through online courses offered by the Office of Continuing Education.  Continuing Education offers hundreds of instructor-led and self-directed online courses.

Our online programs, faculty, and administrators have received numerous accolades over the years, and several faculty members have completed the Quality Matters (QM) program.  The QM program is a national program that identifies online courses that are peer-reviewed and designated as high-quality online courses.
